PBN Power boat Norway With the PBN a new boatbrand is born.... Fast boats is not something new at all. Particulare In the US high performance boats has been produced, the american way, for years. Our consept is to make a cat "fly"also with less power. Is it possible to make a boat that can narrow the gap between diesel performance and petrol performance? If we are able to do so, how will this boat then perform using petrol engines, or even gasturbines? You can just imagine! This challage demands a new hulldesign, a new building process and the lightest and strongest materials avaiable. In other words: a new boat, a PBN.
The shipbuilding traditions on the west coast of Norway has its origin more that 3000 years back. Like the Huns bred their horses, the coast people of Norway "bred" their boats to perfection for hundreds of years. To day this shipbuilding tradition is most vigours. The light and fast small ferries are perhaps the most famous produkt from this region to day. In a continous line of this tradition, the PBN is born. Just before Christmas 2005 we started working with naval engineer Geir Arnestad and Djupevåg Båtbyggeri to develop this new consept. The CNC machine at Djupevåg Båtbyggeri made it possible to make small models of the product as the process went along. These models were essential for the development. We were always able to see the result of our drawings in real life. We focused on three items: power, hulldesign and weight. These are the key figures of sucess for powerboats. After numerous of models and after several tecnical challanges solved, we finaly started porduction last year. The prototype will have sea trials this fall. var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ?
